Weddington-Penny Bartley Guthrie,84,of Weddington,N.C. went to be with the Lord on March 16 2010.
Penny was born on Feb.16,1926 in Evergreen,N.C. to Archie Belton Bartley and Hettie Reardon Bartley.She was one of eight children.
She is survived by one son and his wife of Weddington,N.C. and one daughter and her husband of Kennesaw,GA.
She was preceded in death by one son,John Timms of Cheltenhan,Md.She was also preceded in death by husbands,Joe B.Timms of Gastonia,N.C.,and William E.Guthrie of Bessemer City,N.C.
Penny had nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one sister and one brother.
Mrs.Guthrie was a very active member of First Baptist Church,Weddington.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday,March 18,at First Baptist Church,Weddington.A graveside service will be held in Chadbourn,N.C. at 11a.m.Friday,March 19,at Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery with a graveside visitation to follow.
