From the 1860 census of Newbern-Clifty Twp, Bartholomew Co, IN, the first census in which Mary Ann and her husband, Franklin/Frank J. Foster, were listed as husband and wife. The two children listed with them were no longer alive at the time of the 1870 census.

From the 1880 census in Carmi -- "M.A." Foster listed with her husband, Frank J. Foster, in the last census in which he was listed [excepting, of course, the possibility that he was listed in the 1890 census that was subsequently destroyed by fire]. These were the last two lines on the page. Daughters Belle (same as Charity), 18, Lois M., 12, and Daisy D., 10, were listed at the top of the next page. From the 1900 census, we know that Belle/Charity and Lois, like their father, died between the 1880 and 1900 censuses.

In this detail from a 1900 census page from Carmi City, White Co, IL, the household of Andrew Rudolph, dentist, is listed. In the household is his mother-in-law, Mary Ann _____ Foster. Note that Mary Ann is listed as having had six children, with only one still alive -- obviously Dr. Rudolph's wife, Daisy.
