Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Willmar, with the Rev. David Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Fariview Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.
He was born Aug. 3, 1902, in Mounds, Okla., to Frank Armstrong and Cora Lee (Smith). He attended a seminary in Salina, Kan., and was ordained by the Baptist Fellowship Church. He married Ellen DeVol on Aug. 23, 1923. For more than 60 years he worked as a salesman in Kansas and Colorado,and also worked as a minister in those areas. On Jan. 25, 1961, he married Elle Olson in Milbank, S.D., and they lived in Sanborn and Mountain Lake before moving to Willmar in 1981.
He is survived by sons A. Eugene (and Dora) Armstrong Olympia, Wash., V. Keith Armstrong of Spring, Texas, and Robert Armstrong of Fayetteville, Ark.; step-son Harlan Olson of Willmar ; daughter Dorothy Kolb of Aurora, Colo.; step-daughters Gloria (and Wally) Woods of Independence, Mo., and Frances (and Gerald) Dickson of Mesa, Arizona; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ella; son William; daughter Betty; one brother and five sisters.
