SHADID Josephine Cohlmia Shadid, died peacefully at her new Oklahoma City home May 9, 2005, at the age of 90. Born October 26, 1914 in Wichita, KS to Adeeb and Najeeba Cohlmia, she managed Cohlmia Brothers General Store in Gate and Cohlmia's Dry Goods in Watonga. She married Theodore Shadid in 1948 and lived in Oklahoma City and Shawnee, Oklahoma, prior to moving to Denver, CO in 1970. She owned and operated a delicatessen in Edmond and Fox's Fashions in Denver, (a lady's and children's wear store), retiring in 1985. A founding member and matriarch of St. Elias Orthodox Church in Denver, she was very active in the Ladies' Aid Society of the church and West Point Mothers Association in Denver. She was a past member of the Bonne Heure Club of Oklahoma City. Survivors include her son Lt. Col. Theodore, Jr. (US Army Retired), wife Jane, grandchildren Catherine and husband Arron Small, Carolyn and Matthew Shadid, all of Leavenworth, KS; sister Florence Kouri, Wichita, KS; Elsie Simon, Clinton, OK; and Ray Cohlmia, DDS, Oklahoma City; and very special sisters-in-law Mary Jane Joseph and Theitis Shadid of Denver, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Fred, Gorden, George and Woodrow; sisters Velma Swyden and Margaret Homsey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Elias Orthodox Church, 7580 Pierce St, Arvaca, CO 80003. Trisagion service will be held Tuesday, 7:00 pm, at St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Oklahoma City, followed by the funeral service at 7:30 pm with the Very Rev. Father Constantine Nasr, Economos officiating. A Memorial service followed by interment will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary Chapel, 6601 S.
