Death Claims John Dundas
John Uriah Dundas, 68, a former police judge at Pierce and a resident of Clarkston for the last two years, died of the infirmities of age at St. Joseph's Hospital, Lewiston, at 9:20 a.m. yesterday. He was also a former electrical superintendent for the Grangeville Light & Power Co., at Kamiah and Craigmont and had lived in north central Idaho most of his life.
Dundas was born Dec. 31, 1898 at Guilford College, N.C., the son of Marshall and Mary Dundas and moved with them to Lewiston when he was 2. He later moved with them to Greer, where his father operated a power plant for the Grangeville Light & Power Co.
He attended schools in the Greer area and grew to maturity there. He married Pearl Omans at Kamiah May 7, 1922. She survives at the home, 1034 Van Arsdol St.
In 1931, after 10 years with the Grangeville Light & Power Co., Dundas moved with his family to Lewiston, where he was employed by the Washington Water Power Co., for eight years. He then moved to Pierce and there served as city clerk and police judge. He also was clerk of the Pierce School District until the district was dissolved. In 1964 Dundas moved with his family to Clarkston and had lived here since.
In addition to his widow he is survived by a son, Lester, at home, and a brother, Charles Dundas, Spokane.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Merchant Chapel, with the Elder Frank S. Wilcox of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, officiating. Burial will be at Normal Hill Cemetery, Lewiston.
