Bennett "Benny" Ponder age 81 of Richmond passed away Wednesday May 30, 2012 at Hospice Compassionate Center.
Bennett was born in Rockcastle County to the late Henry and Allie B. Mullins Ponder. He was retired from Kentucky Stone, a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Hays Fork Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Lorene Mink Ponder, three children Patricia (Roger) Wolfe, Janice Chadwell and Kevin Ponder, one brother William Ponder, two sisters Cacus Marker and Dean Yencer, 7 grandchildren James Michael Kirby, Jennifer Dawn Short, Scott Bradley, Benjamin Kirby, Paige Ponder, Roger Wolfe Jr. and Mackenzie Ponder and great grandchildren Austin Short, Kevin Wolfe, Hannah Davis, Lilly Davis and another one expected to be here in November.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one sister Eva Shannon.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday June 2nd, 2012 at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Vincent Carmen officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11am until time of services at the funeral home.
