Joanne was born on March 3, 1934 in St. Nazianz, daughter of the late Herbert and Lydia (Matznick) Hammel. She married Donald R. Bubolz on June 12, 1954 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Collins. Joanne attended George Washington Public School in St. Nazianz and graduated from Kiel High School, class of 1951. She worked at St. Nazianz Publishing and farmed with her husband in the Township of Maple Grove. She was a member of St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville, she volunteered in the Library at the school and worked on the finance committee at church.
Survivors include her children; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law (private), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Don on April 13, 2008, her parents, a brother-in-law Peter Link, and a niece Brenda Vanden Avond.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sat., July 30, 2011, at St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. The Rev. Timothy Nommensen will officiate. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Sat. from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
