Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Watson's Funeral Home for Frank M. Cihak, 80, who died July 31st at Meadowbrook hospital following a stroke. Rev. Charles Thompson of the United Missionary Church officated.
Born in Bohemia January 8, 1877, Mr. Cihak came to the United States at the age of 14 and settled in the Bohemian Settlement near East Jordan. On August 28, 1905 he married Mary Benda at the Bohemian Settlement where they lived ever since. As a young man he worked in the lumber camps, later taking up farming.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, five daughters, Mrs. Tom Sloznik, Mrs. Rudolph Jaeger and Mrs. Ernest Faellaci, all of Chicago, Mrs. Les Wyn of Muskegon and Mrs. Bob Dunson of East Jordan; two sons, Frank Jr. of Battle Creek and Emanuel of East Jordan; ten grandchildren; seven-great grandchildren; three sisters, Miss Josie Cihak of Chicago, Mrs. Nettie Hurlbert of East Jordan and Mrs. Mary Kubeck of Niles and two brothers, Louis of Buffalo and Bohumil of East Jordan.
Bearers were Roy Hurlbert, Lester Hurlbert, Marlin Cihak and Louis Cihak. Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Relatives and friends from out of town to attend the funeral were Mrs. Rudolph Jaeger and Mrs. Ernest Faellaci of Chicago, Mrs. Mary Kubeck of Niles, Mr. and Mrs. Les Wyn of Muskegon and Louis Cihak of Buffalo, New York
