Elopers and Others Who Went to Jeffersonville in Search of Wedded Bliss
Thomas J. Check, an accommodating and handsome young Deputy Clerk of the Chancery Court, and Miss Stella Wilkes, daughter of the river pilot, Perry Wilkes, No. 2109 West Walnut Street, quietly went over to Jeffersonville on Tuesday, and were duly united in the holy bonds of wedlock by Dr. Field. Tommie is the son of Mr. George W. Check, formerly Deputy Assessor. He is just twenty years old and the bride is sweet seventeen.
