Mrs. Toomey, Widow of Late Jerre Toomey, Dies, Aged 61
Death of Mrs. Toomey—
Mrs. Kathryn (sic) Toomey, widow of the late Jerre Toomey and a resident of the
county for thirty-seven years, died yesterday afternoon, death being due to general
debility. Had Mrs. Toomey lived until March 26, she would have been 61 years of age.
Born in county Clare, Ireland, Mrs. Toomey came to Manitowoc thirty-seven years ago
to make her home with a sister at Maple Grove and two years later was married to Mr.
Toomey. The couple removed to this city and for years conducted a private boarding
house. Mrs. Toomey resided at 521 Franklin street.
One son, Jerre, Jr., and four stepchildren survive, the latter being Mrs. M. Runge,
Chicago, Mrs. Thomas Hamonet, Spokane, John of Brillion and Daniel of this city.
Funeral services will be held from St. Boniface church tomorrow morning and the body
will be taken to Maple Grove for burial.

Mrs. Catherine Toomey, one of the old residents of this city, died
Tuesday at her home, 521 Franklin street, aged 61 years. She was born
in County Clare, Ireland, and came to this country over 35 years ago,
settling first in Maple Grove. After a few years' residence there she
was married to Jerry Toomey and the couple removed to this city. Mr.
Toomey died five years ago. The deceased was a devoted wife and
affectionate mother and was well like [sic] by all who knew her.
One son, Jerry, and four step-children survive, the latter being, Mrs.
M. Runge, Chicago; Mrs. Thomas Hamonet, Spokane; John of Brillion,
and Daniel of this city.
The funeral was held this morning from St. Boniface church. Her body
was take to Maple Grove for burial.
