Mrs William Davis Passes Away April 4th

Elsie Isabel the third child of Mr and Mrs M E Snook was born in Scott township, near Brooklyn, Iowa on 23 Jul 1899 and died at the home of her parents, four miles northwest of Montezuma at 7:30 o'clock Saturday morning 4 apr 1925 aged 25 years 9 months and 11 days.
She received her schooling in the country schools and Montezuma Public schools.
She was married to William E Davis on 3 Aug 1916. To this union were born four sons, Harold Vernon 6 years past, Ferril Robert, 4 years past, Forest Calvin, 2 years past and Eldon 8 months old.
Soon after Eldon was born, Mrs Davis came to the home of her parents from Chicago which had been her home and has spent these last weary months of sickness with them. In spite of all that loving care and careful attention could do, she has gradually declined, but was cheerful, brave hearted and sweet spirited all the while. She was a faithful wife and a true mother. She was kind hearted, cheerful, neighborly and made a hard fight to live for the sake of the home and family.
She is survived by the husband, by the 4 little boys, by her parents and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs Rosa Loftin of Grinnell, Mrs Ida Simpson living south of Montezuma, Raymond, Cecil, Lester, Mary, Bertha, Mark and Hughie all at home. These togather with other relatives and many friends sympathize deeply with the grief-stricken family mourn over the untimely death of the wife and mother.
Funeral services were said from the Methodist Church Monday afternoon of this week, cinducted by the Rev A H Baker, pastor of the Church. Interment was in the Montezuma Cemetery.
