SPRINGVILLE — Agnes Giles Taylor McKee Rowland, 80, died Saturday morning at the Eldred Sunset Manor following an illness.
She was born Jan. 19, 1882, in Springville, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Thorn Giles.
She received her education in the Springville schools, and was married to Robert Taylor on April 13, 1903, in Provo. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died in 1907.
She was married to George Jefferson McKee on June 21, 1909, in Provo. He died in 1922.
She was married to Ted Rowland in June of 1946. He died in 1947.
Most of her life was spent in Springville, although she lived for a time in Lehi and Mammoth during her early years.
She was active in the Relief Society, serving at one time in a ward presidency. She was secretary of the ward genealogy committee, and was a member of Camp Springville, DUP.
Mrs. Rowland was noted for her needle and fancy work, and had sewed burial clothes in Springville for 23 years.
Surviving are three sons and one daughter, C. R. Taylor, American Fork; Mrs. Marion (Ethel) Robinson, Murray; Bert McKee, Spanish Fork, and Max McKee, Provo; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a twin brother, Ed Giles, Glens Ferry, Ida., and a sister, Mrs. Hattie Williams, Springville.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Springville Fourth-lOth LDS Ward chapel, under the direction of Bishop W. Verl Whiting of the Fourth Ward. Friends may call at the Wheeler Mortuary Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday prior to services. Burial will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.
