Delois Hawkins-Williams then married Andrew Michael Arbuckle on February 12,1983 (Delois was Andrew's 2nd wife...his first being Denyse T. Baham). Andrew was born April 13, 1949 and died March 9, 1994 and his find a grave memorial is: 11465471
Delois' Mother's maiden name is Drayden
Now, as for Delois' burial: the reason they have trouble finding her records (yes, again on Thursday) is that she only appears in what they call the "litigation records." Being in that box of records means that an heir or family member joined the class action lawsuit on her behalf. The scan I've attached is of the copy of some of their records re her site. The office manager (sole staff) said the records show that that plot was first sold/used in 1942: yes, over 50 years before Delois' death. They know there were multiple sales/uses of the same plot, but not exactly how many or who. He said that, consequently, moving Delois would not be possible since they'd not know if it was her. [They're not really sure exactly where she was buried. And, my memory of the scandal is that there were some who were not even actually buried.]
The photos I've attached are of the plot: a close-up and a longer view. This is in Area 9, across from marker 208 on the east wall. There is no marker visible. The man said that there may be one that has been covered over &/or grown over; he said that he'd go back out later and probe for one and call me. He hasn't called. There are very few markers visible in this area at all. Many of the visible ones are totally illegible. The ground is very uneven and difficult walking. Gophers are rampant and walking is precarious with holes and cave-ins as you walk. Google Earth can give you a pretty good shot of the cemetery; it looked better then than it does now.
The undertaker is shown as Hobbs, Williams, Cooper. They had several offices in the greater LA/Pomona area. There is at least one still left in business under the Williams Cooper name.
All the records I saw clearly had her surname as Williams Arbuckle, no hyphen, but alphabetized under W. Now, look at the scan: a Lawanda K. Wiliams (b 9-28-1964) was buried the same day and listed as adjacent to Delois. I wonder if that's more than a coincidence? Perhaps it's a clue as to why Delois was buried here? On the other hand, we know the cemetery records are incomplete at best....**
