William was the last son of a Revolutionary War soldier, his brother Dewald, also a bachelor, having died a year ago. He was the owner of the Bieber plantation which consisted of about 200 acres. This plantation was located 1.5 miles in either direction of Lobachsville and Pleasantville. He was unmarried, very wealthy, and his estate was distributed to nephews and nieces. He was buried on the farm on which he was born and lived his life.
