CORINNA – David A. Pooler was born Feb. 13, 1937, in Dexter, and passed away peacefully June 10, 2012.

He served as postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service for many years, was a member of Corinna United Methodist Church, served in the U.S. Marines and in the Maine Army National Guard. He was very active in his community, served as chairman of the board of directors for SAD 48, and recreation director for many years, helped organize many town events and was very active in Scouting. He was dedicated to his family, enjoyed doing home improvement projects and traveling around Maine. He loved listening to polka music and playing the lawn game, Yolf.

He was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Marguerite; and brothers, Roger and Robert. He is survived by his wife, Sue; son, Craig and wife, Polly; daughter, Karen Wilson and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Chris, Abbi and Josh; brothers, Owen and Wellman and wife, Betty; sisters, Nancy Corris, Dorothy Ford and husband, John, Anna Bailey and husband, Don, Susan Weeks Albert and husband, Rodney; two stepsons, six stepgrandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Corinna United Methodist Church, Corinna, with an Honor Guard ceremony at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. (Bangor Saily News posted 6/15/2012)
