Mayo Eugene Carroll passed away, June 29, 2004 surrounded by his loving family. Gene was born March 25, 1925 in Salt Lake City to Thelma S. and Mayo L. Carroll. Gene married his high school sweetheart, Colleen Cahoon, in the Salt Lake Temple. Gene enlisted in the Air Force and served with the 474th Fighter Group, flying P38s in Europe. He graduated from the University of Utah and worked in the insurance business for many years. He loved to hunt, fish and boat; he was a little league baseball coach in Holladay for several years. He was President of Hidden Valley Country Club. He had a passion for golf and had many golfing friends. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend and will be missed. Survived by his wife Colleen, his sons, Michael Eugene (Julie) Douglas (Colleen). Also survived by his four grandchildren, Kim, Jay, Andy, Kelsey, great-grandchild, Peyton, his brothers N. Keith (Marion), Glenn (Carol Jean). Preceded in death by son, Jay Malloy and sister, Donna Farnsworth. Funeral services held July 2, 2004 in the Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 So. Highland Drive. Interment, Holladay Memorial Cemetery.
