Fannie Leon, faithful and hardworking wife, mother and grandmother transitioned peacefully from this life on Thurs. June 14, 2012. Fannie resided under the loving care of the Fort Bayard Medical Center family. She was born on July 25, 1910 in Hanover, NM to John James Fletcher and Emilia Davila Fletcher. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 yrs. Raymond L. Leon. Together after his retirement they enjoyed traveling and camping in their trailer. Fannie was a communicant of St. Francis Newman Center. Survivors include her only son, Ray Leon and wife Louise; her three grandchildren, Lori Provencio and husband Carlos; Richard Ray Leon and Lydia M. Madrid and husband Robert; two great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. Fannie was the last surviving member of the Fletcher family, having lost her two brothers and four sisters over the years. Calling hours will be Sunday, June 17th from 4-6pm with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Deacon Jerry Miller reciting. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Monday, June 18th at 10am at St. Francis Newman Center with Father Mike Williams officiating. Rite of the committal will follow at St. Vincent Catholic cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Ray Leon, Robert P. Madrid, Tommy Ryan, Loren Ray Connell and Benjamin Alvarado.
