GRANTSVILLE - Grace Marie Braskey, 95, of Grantsville, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2011 at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville. Born Jan. 15, 1916, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Rose (Smith) Carey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Braskey, Oct. 13, 2004; two brothers, Lawrence and Harry Carey; and two sisters, Alice Bevans and Mary Moffatt. Mrs. Braskey was co-owner of Hill Top Inn from 1950-1972 and was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. She is survived by two sons, James Francis Braskey, Frostburg and John George Braskey and wife, Pam, Grantsville; a daughter, Barbara A. Moffatt and husband, Denny, Frostburg; a brother, James Carey, Longstretch; three sisters, Edna Knepp Rollo, Longstretch, Gladys Garlitz, Hagerstown, Clara Swauger, Carmichael, Pa.; five grandchildren, Denny Moffatt and wife, Angela, Carey and Joe Moffatt, Tara (Braskey) Chapman and husband, Eric; Dana Jo (Braskey) Reinhardt and husband, Jeff; and five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Gina and Erica Moffatt, John Reinhardt and Blake Chapman.Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. Ann Catholic Church on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Father Richard Gray officiating. Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery.
