Born to parents Stephen and Hanah (unknown) Crouse he married Celesta Jane DeFrain and had the following children: Luther, Edward, George, Mrs. William (Lillie)Dietrick. He had been a section foreman of the Pennsylvania Railroad for a number of years and later worked in the rolling mill of the AC&F from which he retired 12 years prior to his death. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
