Moses with his brother enlisted in the Civil War together on Sept.5,1861,in Co.G 81st.Pa.Vol.The 81 particapted in a number of engagements including the Battle of Antietam.On Dec.13,1862 Moses was wounded at the Battle of Fredericksburg.He was discharged Sept.15,1864.He was the husband of Senia Rex Hontz,the son OF Jonas and Sarah Reinschmidt Hontz.Ater the war he was a river boat captain in the rivers of Carbon Co.
