A native of Buckeye, Iowa, born Aug. 30, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Dora Jones Levell.
She was a retired salesperson at the Greentree Mall and a former owner of Bakers Shoe Store in Milltown. She taught art and craft classes, and was a member of Church of Christ with the Elijah Message, Order of Eastern Star 412 in Milltown and Homemakers Club in Corydon. She was a 1970 graduate of Corydon Central High School.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Earl Baker, and three brothers, Ernest, Lester and Silven Levell.
Survivors include two daughters, Jewel Darlene Linton of North Fort Myers, Fla., and Marilyn Faye Schmidt of Ely, Minn.; four sisters, Lavonne Poe Mackey of New Salisbury, Gerine Kell Brown and Doris Jean Oglesby, both of Evansville, and Colleen Miller Hughes of Jeffersonville; six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: April 30 at Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home in Milltown with burial in Mathers Chapel Cemetery near English.
