Harold Atkinson, 72, of Frankfort, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Seton Specialty Hospital in Lafayette.

He was born September 22, 1940, in Monticello, Kentucky, the son of Charlie Wesley and Mary Nova Guffey Atkinson. On January 15, 1966, he married the former Linda Faye Rednour; she preceded him in death December 13, 2012.

Harold retired from General Battery/Exide after 28 years. He then worked at Donaldson Co. before his retirement in 2003 and worked part time at Frankfort High School. He was a member of the Moose and Eagle Lodges and of the VFW and American Legion, all in Frankfort. Harold had a special bond with his poodle, Sissy.

Surviving Harold are his daughter, Teresa (Terry) Jacot of Frankfort; three grandchildren, Jason (Melody) Mooneyhan, Brandy Mooneyhan (Trevor), and Courtney (Charlene) Mooneyhan; seven great grandchildren, Christian Mooneyhan, Chase Mooneyhan, Collin Mooneyhan, Amelia Mooneyhan, Madison Howard, Waylan Howard, and Carson Mooneyhan; and one brother, Alvin (Debbie) Atkinson of Monticello, Kentucky.

In addition to his wife, Harold is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, and one great granddaughter Aliyah Mooneyhan.
