She was born Nov. 11, 1979, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Steven N. and Rebecca L. Tullis Wiley.
She lived in Southeast Kansas her entire life, attending Girard schools and graduating in 1998 from Girard High School. She was a junior at Pittsburg State University, where she was majoring in pre-med. She worked as a teller at Community National Bank, Girard.
She was a member of the National Honors College and Mount Olive Baptist Church in rural Girard.
Survivors include a son, Taylor Ray Shaffer, who lives with his grandparents, Rebecca and Steven Wiley, Fairview, Tenn.; a sister, Alicia Wiley, of the home in Tennessee; maternal grandparents, Tom and Jean Tullis, Bartlett, and paternal grandmother, Betty Wiley, Altamont.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Milan Wiley.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Girard, with associate pastor Marvin Boore officiating.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Creek Cemetery at Bartlett.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, Pittsburg, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The family suggests memorials to the education fund of Taylor Ray Shaffer, in care of the Community National Bank, P.O. Box 326, Girard, KS 66743.
