Lorraine "Blackie" Guidry, 86, died Monday, June 11, 2012, in her residence.
She was a native of Crowley and had been a resident of Sulphur for the last 65 years. Blackie enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Nora Woodward and husband, Tim of Jennings, Loretta Wells and husband, Ricky, Brenda Bertrand and husband, Johnny, Arthur Guidry, Yvette Breaux and husband, Charlie, Johnny Guidry, and Shelia Guidry and husband, Ricky, all of Sulphur; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rene Guidry, Jr; two sons, Keith and Ricky Guidry; and several siblings.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, in St. Theresa Catholic Church. The Rev. Joe Aquino, M.S. will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is from 1-9 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary service at 7 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
