Marjorie P. Dietz of U.S. Highway 2392, Corbin, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was 72 years, 9 months and 13 days of age. She was born on August 18, 1938 in Whitley County, Kentucky to the late, Elbert Petrey and Burlene Harmon Petrey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Dietz and a sister, Virginia Sweet Mays. She was a member of Lickfork Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, David Dietz and his wife Amy of Corbin, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Hannah Dietz, Maxwell Dietz, Connor Dietz and Brady Dietz; one brother, Bill Petrey of London, Kentucky; three sisters, Paula Sweet Hill and Verlois Gray, both of London, Kentucky and Catherine Topfer of Miami, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, Kentucky.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Harmon officiating. She will be laid to rest in the McFarland Family Cemetery in Woodbine, Kentucky.
