The funeral for Cora Nestegard, 88 of Leeds was held Mon. at 2 p.m. at North Prairie Free Lutheran Church, rural Leeds. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died March 7, 2000 of the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby.

Rev. Clarence Stanley & Rev. Mark Antal officiated. Mayme Silliman was organist & Nancy Silliman was soloist. Pallbearers were David Ahlberg, Warren Anderson, Richard Jorgenson, Billy Harkness, Duane Peiler & Duane Rauk. The Nelson Funeral Home of Leeds was in charge of arrangements.

Cora Beatrice Nestegard was born April 29, 1911 in Leeds to John & Julia Hanson Paulson. She grew up in Leeds & graduated from high school there. She married Arnold Nestegard Nov. 6, 1935 in Leeds. They lived & farmed on his family's farm. They retired in 1993 & moved to the Halland Home in Rugby. In 1996 she moved to the Heart of America Medical Center's Long Term Care Unit. He died Sept. 5, 1998.

She was a member of North Prairie Free Lutheran Church & its ladies aid.

Survivors include a son, Arnold (Arne) Nestegard of Minot; a son-in-law, Dr. Robert Cook of Minot; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Frances Carlson of Anoka, Minn. & Lorraine Whitehead of Parkville, Md.; & 2 sisters-in-law, Arlyne Paulson of Leeds & Ruth Bye of Cambridge, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Carole Cook; a daughter-in-law, Irene Nestegard; a granddaughter; & 4 brothers, Melvin, Harold, Victor & Claire Paulson.
