First wife Emilie or Amelia Brettin:
Death certif of son Edward J. says mother Emilia Brettin
Ancestry.com family tree sabram184 says first wife is Emilie Brettin, b. Oct 1869 in Russian Poland, d. 18 Feb 1906 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, cites St. John's records of burial 18 May 1907, age 36 yrs 4 months 9 days. These dates suggest she was first buried somewhere else, or perhaps a holding crypt for the winter, then moved or buried. Alternatively, there are records for an Amelia or Emilie Abraham, b. Oct 1869 Germany, d. 14 Mar 1907 Cleveland of septicemia, age 36, b. Germany, add. 8 Morrison Ave, undertaker Claus, bur. Feb 18, 1907, buried in Harvard Grove (men #94484118) Last name is not a match, but the dates suggest there might be a misspelling.

Ancestry.com family tree sabram184 lists Emilie's parents as Friedrich Brettin (1846-1911) and Elizabeth Klatt.

Daughter:
"Lydia Petty March 30, 1913~Dec. 29, 2008 Lydia Petty at 95 passed away peacefully in her Novato home which was her wish. She was born in Cleveland and raised in the nearby Ohio town of Garfield Heights. Her father, Michael Abram was a widower with eight children when he married Bertha. Bertha gave birth to Lydia, and her two brothers, Gerhard and Otto. Lydia worked for the U.S. Civil Service in accounting and administration starting in WW II, retiring in the late 1970s. In the late 1940s, Lydia was transferred to Guam, and on the ship she met her future husband, Estil Pat Petty who was in the U.S. Army. They traveled throughout the world while Pat was in the Army. Pat was discharged from the Presidio in 1963 and the couple moved to Novato a few years later. Lydia was always well dressed, loved her home, proud of her independence, and when she made up her mind that was the way things were done. She is survived by her brother Gerhard Abram of North Royalton Ohio, her husband's daughter, Patricia Herakavic of Orwell, Ohio, many nieces, nephews, and their children, most of whom are living in Ohio. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1180 Lynwood Drive in Novato. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Petty memorial fund."
