Winnie Adcock Mathis Veal

(ROANOKE) Services for Winnie Adcock Mathis Veal, 96, of Roanoke were at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at White's Chapel Methodist Church, with the Rev. S. T. Janney and Mr. John D. Weathers officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Veal died Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Chapman Nursing Home in Alexander City.

A lifelong resident of Roanoke, she was born on March 8, 1905, daughter of Dee Eston and Tweedie Bell May Adcock. She was employed in the textile industry and was a member of First Baptist Church of Roanoke.

Survivors include a sister, Liza Burdette of LaGrange, Ga.; a brother, Arney Adcock of Roanoke; several nieces and nephews, and two stepdaughters.

Arrangements were by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke.
