Published in the Skamania County Pioneer Newspaper, in Stevenson, WA on October 17, 1923. Information found in the "Obituaries from the Skamania County Newspaper 1900-1929, compiled by Homer and Alice Townsend, 119 W. Burgen, Goldendale, WA 98620 in March 1985.
The general problem they reported is:
I searched the entire cemetery and could not find the grave
They also reported, specifically:
We could not find a headstone with this name. There are many graves that are unmarked and many temporary markers that are unreadable.
The death certificate is a little misleading. In the 1880 census, she was Sarah Wallace with a brother aged 1, last name Copley. and mother named Martha Copley , and they were all living with Martha's step Dad T.L. Sullivan who had previously married Martha's mother, Sarah Price. Martha eventually marries her step dad T.L. Sullivan. Sarah's father has not been identified.
A suggestion was made as follows, but I cannot accept it as she was Sarah Wallace in 1880, suggesting her father was a Wallace. Her mother's maiden name was Price. But her her parents that raised her was her mother Martha Price who had married her stepdad TL Sullivan. Suggested edit: Sarah's surname was recorded as Price on her marriage document with Henry Clinton Miller. It also stated that Martha Sullivan and TL Sullivan were the parents of the bride.
