- Bertha O. Gilman, 83, of Marengo and formerly of Ottumwa died at 9:48 am Feb. 13, 1992, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was born June 10, 1908 in Eldon to Joseph and Callie Minnick Hart. She married William A. Gilman on March 10, 1928 in Ottumwa. He died April15, 1979. She was a homemaker. She is survived by a son, a daughter, and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. The graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa, the Rev. Harold Gilleney officiating. Family visitation will be7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home in Ottumwa
