Betty Stamey Chambers

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Chambers, 84, of Charlotte died on June 8, 2012. Betty was born June 14, 1927 in Burke County to the late Nelson and Katie Stamey. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William Chambers of 32 years and grandson, Christopher Adam Chambers.

Mrs. Chambers service will be held on Monday, June 11th at 11AM at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. A celebration of her life will held at 2PM at The Cove at Wilora Lake Lodge following her graveside service. Friends will be received Sunday night from 5-7PM at Pam and Phil Martin's home.

She is survived by her children, Norman Chambers and his wife Linda of Raleigh, William Chambers and his wife Brenda of Rutherford College, Toni Muse and her husband Charlie of Greer, SC, Pamela Martin and her husband Phil of Mint Hill, and Patricia Perry of N. Myrtle Beach; sister, Norma Shook of Decatur, GA; grandchildren, Jennifer Tolbert and her husband Terry, Norman Chambers, Jr, Julie Byrd and her husband Andy, Bryan Payne, Shannon Epting [granddaughter of James Hoffman Epting], and Alison "Nikki" Epting; 8 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte or a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are in care of Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel.
