Shelby Arrowood Hensley, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at The McDowell Hospital. Mrs. Hensley was born in Wyoming County, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late John France Cable and Velva Farley Cable. Mrs. Hensley was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, which she loved very much and she retired from Baxter Healthcare following over 30 years of dedicated service. She was known to be a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and was a friend to many and easy to talk to. A hobby of hers was collecting angels. Preceding Mrs. Hensley in death was her first husband, John Junior Arrowood. Saddened by the loss of Mrs. Hensley are her husband of eight years, Mike Hensley, of the home; six children, Debra Lewis and husband, Darryl, Connie Burgin and husband, Jim, Donna Glenn and husband, Keith, all of Marion, Betty Truelove and husband, Tim, of Beech Mountain, Carolyn Johannessen and husband, Robby, of Asheville and Rachel Davenport, of Marion; two sisters, Effie Petersen and Faye Wilson, both of Marion; seven grandchildren, Amanda and Jessica Johannessen, Travis and Tyler Taylor, Samantha Glenn, Victoria Truelove and Jarod Davenport. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Hensley. A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 10, at 3 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Upton officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., prior to the service, at the church. Interment will be in bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
