Robert Eugene Arnott was born into a loving family in the small town of Nappanee Indiana. He was active in many organizations in school including student council and Hi-Y. The Nappanee Hi-Y was affiliated with the YMCA and limited to 35 members whose purpose was to provide leadership within the school and the community.
He married Fredonna Rice, the daughter of Leslie and Lonetta (Mishler) Rice, on November 9, 1943. She worked as a secretary for Wa-Nee community schools for 23 years including 18 years at Northwood High School. They retired and moved to Fort Myers, Florida in September of 1992.
