D. Gene Bolling, 69, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Gene was born in Three Springs, VA. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked at the Kingsport Press. Gene retired from Rogersol, Inc. as a national sales manager. He was Lt. Commander of Sons of Confederate Veterans Johns S. Mosby Camp 1409, Kingsport. Gene was of the Baptist faith.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Gene worked very hard to help with the homeless vets.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nora Bolling, and sister, Phyllis Denton.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bolling; two daughters, Andrea Lindsey of Church Hill and Stephanie Bolling of Bluff City; son, Gene Gonzales and wife, Deena of Largo, FL; four grandchildren, Amanda Bays, Maggie Pope, Jacob Goforth and Dakota Gonzales; one great-granddaughter, Shyla Velle Bays; two brothers, Don Bolling and wife, Delores of Elizabethton, and Jay C. Bolling and wife, Melba of Bristol, VA; two sisters, Gay Hopkins and husband, Ray of Culpepper, VA, and Kay Bowman and husband, Benny of Bristol, TN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 2-5:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 5:30 pm with Pastor Tom Musselman and Ron Wampler officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 11:00 am at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Military rites by American Legion Posts 3/265.

Pallbearers will be John Byington, Scott Smith, Bill Holly, Tom Purdue, Todd Harrison and Rick Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Wampler, Carroll Long, Charlie Brown, Donald Compton, Curtis Payne and Jr. Marshal.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 East Sunrise Drive, Tucson, AZ 85718.
