Rev. Stanley G. Milewski The Rev. Stanley G. Milewski, 72, of Springfield died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at his residence.

He was born June 2, 1921 in Chicago, the son of Boleslaw and Pauline Ciborowska Milewski. Preceding him in death was a sister, Lottie Jazwieck.

Father Milewski was ordained in May 1952. He served as assistant at Sacred Heart Church in 1952, and also served as assistant at Sacred Heart Church in Granite City in 1955. He was a chaplain in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, Korea and Texas in 1959, an assistant at Our Savior in Jacksonville in 1963 and a pastor at St. Michael in Greenfield in 1965. He had served as pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield since 1970. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 4th Degree, spiritual director of Blue Army, Chaplain Catholic War Veterans.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Sophie Jawor of Chicago and Mrs. John (Lillian) Klein of Rhinelander, Wis.; four brothers, Edward Milewski of Manhattan Beach, Calif., Alex Milewski of Hanover Park, Casimer Milewski of Springfield, and John Milewski of California; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Church, with the Revs.
Peter Mascari, celebrant and Rev. Roger Simpson, homilist officiating.
Staab Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
