Silver Glenn Gardner

Helper - Silver Glenn Gardner, 84, Helper, died Oct. 19, 1981, at a Salt Lake convalescence home.

He was born Dec. 28, 1896, in Indianola, Utah, to Elias and Clarissa Seeley Gardner. He married Zina B. Rawlings May 18, 1918, in Denver. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She died April 18, 1967.

A resident of Helper since 1930, he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church. He was a veteran of World War I where he served in the Army in France. He was a retired employee of the DRG&W where he worked 50 years. He was a member of Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen, Helper American Legion, Price Elks Lodge No. 1550 and Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a son, Fred E. Gardner, Orem; two ddaughters, Mrs. Alex (Catherine) Allison, and Mrs. Jack (LaRaine) Malaska, both of Salt Lake City; a brother, Ern Gardner, Helper; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Pope, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Paul (Thelma) Vincent, Provo; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Helper LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Mitchell Chapel Wednesday and Thursday and at the ward chapel Friday before services. The family will be at the mortuary between 7 and 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Helper.
