Burns Magleby, a former oil refinery worker, died Tuesday at Goss Care Home in Suisun City. He was 84.

The native of Monroe, Utah lived in Pittsburg for 53 years. He served in the Army during World War II and retired from Avon Refinery. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pittsburg First Ward, and a former LDS Oakland Temple worker who served two missions for the church. He enjoyed carpentry and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rhoda Rees Magleby, of Pittsburg; daughter, Joan Magleby Goss of Suisun City; sons, Duane Rees Magleby of Kennewick, Wash., Stan Magleby of Salt Lake City and Ralph Magleby of Bay Point; sister, Gloria Magleby of Bay Point; and 19 grandchildren.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at LDS church , Pittsburg Ward Chapel, Pittsburg. Burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Concord. Visitation from 8:30 to 9:50 a.m. prior to funeral at the church. Arrangements by Oak Park Hills Chapel in Walnut Creek.
