Edward "Blue" "Night Cap" Porterie, A retired chef and a resident of Port Allen, he died at 10:55 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at Sterling Place. He was 77 and a native of Maringouin.
Visiting at Hall's Celebration Center, religious service, conducted by the Rev. Henry Lamb Jr. Interment in Old Folk Home Cemetery.
Survived by his wife, Fannie Porterie of Port Allen; two sons, Edward Charles Porterie and Albert J. Porterie; two sisters, Geraldine Porterie and Lillian Porterie Thomas; two brothers, Emerick Porterie Jr. and Alton Porterie Sr.; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emerick Porterie; mother, Beatrice Trusclair Porterie; brothers, Alfred and Alvin Porterie; sisters, Maggie Porterie Lands
and Virginia P. Frank; a brother-in-law, Henry Lands; two nephews and a stepdaughter.
Edward enjoyed being outdoors. His favorite things to do were going fishing and talking with friends and family.
