Janie Adams Darsey - SAVANNAH - Janie Darsey, 87, died June 4th at Azalealand nursing home with her son by her side and under the care of Hospice. She was born June 28th, 1924 to Robert Franklin Adams and Catherine Morrison Adams of Anderson South Carolina. She traveled throughout South Carolina and North Georgia working in the textile mills and with the family photography business. She married Charles Edgar Darsey and settled in Savannah to raise her family. Her family and home were the most important things in her life and she was of the Methodist faith. She was an avid reader until losing her eyesight to diabetes. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers Buck and Virgil Adams, and grandson William James Carr Jr. She is survived by her brother R.W. Adams of Bulloch County, daughter Cathy Eason (John), Son Eddie Darsey, grandson Christopher Carr (Alison), step daughter June Sams of Philadelphia, Pa. and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Azalealand for the loving care she received during her time there and Hospice Savannah. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM Thursday morning with Funeral service at 11:00 AM in the Fairhaven Funeral Home Herbert C. Baker Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
