Robert Franklin Adams was born on March 18, 1895 in White County, Georgia to George Washington and Martha Jane Sears Adams. His marriage to Mary Catherine Morrison produced four children: William George (1915-1923), James Virgil (1918-1999), Robert Wade (1923-2017), and Janie Belle (1924-2012). Bob, like his father, moved around a lot. He was a textile worker, farmer, and ran his own photography studio. He quit school at the age of six or seven and went to work in the textile mills to help support his family. Bob died due to burns suffered when a gas leak caused his trailer home to explode. He was laid to rest in Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson, South Carolina.
