Mrs. Carl H.C. (Anna) Soderholm, 80, local resident for the past 57 years, died at a local hospital Sunday at 4 p.m. Mrs. Soderholm suffered a stroke on September 25, 1943, but had regained her health and was able to be up and around until on June 28 of this year when she suffered another stroke and was removed to the local Hospital.

She was born in Skaning, Sweden, on January 26, 1861, and came to America in 1889, settling in Red Wing where she had since resided. Her marriage to Carl H.C. Soderholm took place October 24, 1886, in Sweden, and together they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1936. He died February, 1940.

A nurse by profession, she practiced for some time after coming to America. She was a life-long member of the First Lutheran church of Red Wing and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Five of her sons served in the first World War and one in the second World War.

Three of her children preceded her in death, a daughter, Dolly Ann, who died October 27, 1923, and two sons, George, who died February 5, 1921, and Carl, who expired June 20, 1943.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Alf Nelson of Red Wing; four sons, Col. N.L. Soderholm, Austin Texas, Axel O. Soderholm, Hubbard, Oregon, T.A. Soderholm, Falls City, Neb., and William Soderholm of Red Wing; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild, and one niece, Mrs. Albert Erickson of Hastings.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Reinold Peterson officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery.
