My Great Great Grandfather Gillespie

I found the church and cemetery where Greenlee is buried. I had my Mama with me. She was in her 90s and so excited. She remember many Gillespies buried in this cemetery. She grew up in Easley. The original church had been torn down and a new church built. That hurt...I wish they had left the old church..This is called progress.

Greenlee was the son of William Gillespie and Lavinia Castleberry.
Greenlee married Susan Lewis March 16, 1847 and had the following children, William L, Mary Ann, Stephen W, Henry Calhoun, David F., Wife # 2...Charity Shelton, had these children: John Thomas, LouEllen, Greenlee Jr, Graham Franklin 'Gray' Gillespie.
In 1850: Anderson County Census Greenlee was a farmer with real estate valued at 300 dollars.

Greenlee fought in the Civil War....

THANK YOU FOR THE FLOWERS YOU LEAVE FOR MY FAMILY !!!
