George Atkins English, age 49 , died Monday , June 17, 1974 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Lexington, Ky. He was a resident of 114 Sunset Drive, Campbellsville, and a member of the First Christian Church. A native of Adair County, he was born November 22, 1924 , son of the late Robert S.English and Cruse Baker English. Mr English was a a veteran of World War II and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Pendleton English; three brothers, Charlie B English, of Greensburg Ky, Hershel English of Chicago Illinois, and Robert English of Bowling Green ,Ky; four sisters; Mrs. Claude Breeding of Greensburg, Mrs. Zack Page of Cane Valley, Mrs. Willard Cheatham of Columbia, and Mrs. Leon Jones of Anna ,Texas. Funeral services were held from the Lyon Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday , June 19, 1974 with the Rev. G. R. Tomlin officiating, assisted by thr Rev.Don Walthers of thr First Christian Church. Interment followed in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites.
