Mrs. James Trombley Dies Here Monday After a Long Illness
Mrs. Albina Trombley, 86, a Tupper Lake resident for the past 72 years, died at 12:45 a. m. Monday at Mercy General Hospital, where she had been a patient since last July.
Funeral services took place at 9 a. m. Wednesday at St Alphonsus Church. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in the spring.
She was born at St. Eugene, Ont., July 5, 1880, the daughter of Ellaire and Euphrosine Sequin Brunette. The family moved to Tupper Lake in the early 1890s, and she attended the local schools, and was married here in 1901 to James J. Trombley. Mr. Trombley was employed by the Town of Altamont and the Village of Tupper Lake for many years, and was active in the Tupper Lake Fire Department for 40 years, serving as fire chief about 17 years. He died here July 5, 1956.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Emerson (Blanche) Hutt, with whom she made her home here, and Mrs. Michael (Alma) Doran of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Herbert (Alma) Dennington of Ilion; one brother, Albert Brunette. Tupper Lake; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
