He was born Aug. 8, 1924 in the town of Maple Grove, son of the late Joseph and Delia (Kleiber) Spatchek. Elmer was a 1942 graduate of Brillion High School and was self-employed as a semi truck driver until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Brillion and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and being Up North.

Elmer is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law: Rolland (Ruth) Spatchek of Reedsville; and Ed (Angie) Spatchek of Brillion; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Josetta (Joe) Brey of Manitowoc; Elaine Nienhaus of Francis Creek; Cecelia (Edward) Spurney of Manitowoc; one brother-in-law: Ed Keller of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: Harold and Clara Spatchek; a sister: Mary Ann Keller; and his brother-in-law: Ellsworth Nienhaus.
