Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Trinity Lutheran Church for Mrs. David (Mary) Bredthauer, 93, who died Saturday in a local hospital. Following surgery several years ago, she had made her home with a son, Oscar of 203 East 22nd, and a daughter, Mrs. Rose Fuss of Scotia. The Rev. O. B. Hussmann will be in charge of the funeral and a family prayer serviceat 1:15 p.m. in the church chapel. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Scotia.
Mrs. Bredthauer was born July 13, 1872 at Bentwater, Mich., to Carl and Babetta (Schmidt) Hackel. Her family moved to Kansas and then came to Valley County in a covered wagon. She was married to David H. Bredthauer on July 4, 1893?, and they farmed in Valley county until 1931 when they moved to Grand Island. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church. Mr. and Mrs. Bredthauer celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1943.
She is survived by two sons, Herbert of Wood River and Oscar of Grand Island; two daughters, Mrs. Fuss of Scotia and Mrs. Esther Lange of Ord; 20 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; a brother, Ed Hackle of Ord, and a sister, Mrs. Katie Marks of Ord. She was preceded in death by four children, four brothers and two sisters.
