Margaret was a retired Ouachita Parish school teacher. She was born in Broussard and lived in Monroe for many years before a move to Natchitoches in 1994. She graduated from Southwestern Louisiana Institute and received a master's degree from Tulane.

Survivors include a son, Warren Fisher Taylor Jr. of Irving, Texas and a daughter Margaret Taylor Wheat-Carter; two brothers, Thomas Hugh de Laureal of Lake Charles and Todd de Laureal of Nederland, Texas; a sister, Celeste de Laureal Boagni of Opelousas.
