Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 8th at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Leander G. "Lee" Danzl, age 90, of St. Cloud, who died on Monday at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by his loving daughters. Rev. Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
Lee was born July 10, 1921 in St. Joseph to Frank and Mary (Lenzen) Danzl. He served in WWII in the European Theatre of war. Lee married Rita Gill on June 24th, 1943 at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud. He was employed at the A. J. Daniel Furniture Store and the Daniel Funeral Home for many years. He was then employed for School District 742. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, VFW Post 428 where he served twice as commander, Eagles Aerie #622, and the DAV.
Survivors include his daughters, Beverly Granillo (Ernest) Tucson, AZ, Betty Weisbrich (Dennis) St. Joseph, and Brenda Anderson (Franklin) Becker, grandsons, Robert and Nic Granillo, David, Michael, and Stephen Weisbrich, and Jason and Adam Anderson, great-grandchildren Alex Granillo, Parker, Ella, Peyton, Morgan and Elijah Weisbrich, and Jackson, Corbin and Landin Anderson, sister Marie Pueringer, Albany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rita, February 26th, 2010, brothers and sisters, Peter, Willard, Fred, Al and Victor Danzl, Lucetta Zimmer, Gertrude Kapsner, and Margie Broker.
