Ferdinand J. (aka... "Fred") was the sixth of ten children (five sons & five daughters) born to Frank Xavier & Mary (Lenzen) Danzl.

"Fred" enlisted in the Army on 1 March 1942; after initial training he was assigned to HQ Battery of 953rd Field Artillery Battalion, which was part of the 2nd Infantry "Indianhead" Division in Normandy & Northern France.

"Fred" died at age 27 from wounds suffered in combat against German forces.
