Private Agg, a farmer from Philadelphia, enlisted on Sept. 16, 1861, for 3 years. He was wounded in the left hand during action at Green Plains, Bermuda Hundred, Va., on May 20, 1864, and again severely in the arm by a shell in the trenches near Cemetery Hill, Va., on August 29, 1864. Discharged March 20, 1865.

N.B.: He was one of the comrades thrown out of the trenches by an exploding shell for which George W. Walton was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for rescuing under fire.
